Bee-Engaged: An Average Joe’s Guide to Becoming A Beekeeper

In this Workshop, the Average Joe Beekeeper will discuss why we need Honey Bees and how to support them through your gardening actions, hive hosting and even becoming a beekeeper.  More than 1/3 of the food we eat is pollinated by Honey Bees and other pollinators.  Through Beekeeping we gain a greater appreciation for Mother Nature and can observe how our actions can help effect the environment in a positive manner.  At the end of this workshop the attendees with have a greater appreciation of the Honey Bee, will be able to determine if beekeeping is for them and will have a foundation for the next steps in getting their own bees.

Did you know that looking at your photos has been shown to increase mood (happiness!) by 11% and decrease stress by 22%?  Preserving your photos in print is the best way to look at them!  In this class you’ll learn tools and methods for seeing your pictures in pages.  We’ll learn about free software connected to professional printing of your finished projects so that your photos and memories will last for generations.  No "creativity" or past scrapbooking experience required. Attendees will also have access to a free printable with various strategies for catching up on preserving pictures if they haven’t done it for a while.

Join Parker Arts staff members Laura Nell Borden and Becky Berends for three cocktail and snack board pairings using what you might have sitting in your pantry.  Our staffers will guide you through some exciting brunch, cocktail hour, and dessert offerings.  This isn’t all about us!  We want to hear about what you are mixing up too.  Bring your creativity and explore with us!
