*Virtual Workshop - Watercolor Painting With Energy and Freedom
Steve Griggs | Ability: All
Learn how to create lively watercolor paintings with free and generous brush strokes. During this workshop, beginner and intermediate level painters are invited to try out a variety of watercolor painting strategies and techniques to create loose, intuitive, free, and spontaneous effects. You will learn about color mixing, glazes, composition, drying time, thickness, and lost and found edges while painting short, warm-up sketches as well as finished landscape or cityscape paintings. There is sure to be a lot of laughter and camaraderie as participants move out of their comfort zones and encourage one another’s efforts.
Location: PACE Center and The Schoolhouse

Painting Landscapes: Outdoors
Lorenzo Chavez| Ability: Beginner, Intermediate
This workshop will focus on teaching the fundamentals of outdoor landscape painting using oil and/or pastel. Pastel and oil are great landscape sketching mediums—their consistency of color and quick handling are valuable when working outdoors. We will cover concept emphasis, shape, line, values, colors, edges and the importance of an emotional involvement. All workshop days will be spent in the field (weather permitting) with social distancing.
Location: First class held at The Schoolhouse. Remaining classes held at outdoor location identified by instructor.
Session A: Mondays, June 15-July 6, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Session B: Mondays, July 13-August 3, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Session C: Tuesdays, July 14-August 3, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Session D, Mondays August 10-August 31, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Session E, Tuesdays August 11- September 1, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
SPECIAL NOTE: All classes will take place outdoors with strict social distancing. By registering for this class, you agree to stay six feet apart and wear a face mask at all times for the safety of all participants. The instructor will also review work from six feet away. Thank you for helping us prioritize the safety of everyone involved.
