Musical Theater Dance

Ages: 13+
Learn different styles of Broadway dance and choreography as well as improving your dance technique. Proper warm up, body placement and some good conditioning will get you where you need to be. Whether you are getting ready for your next audition, show or just want to have something fun to do, this class is for you. All levels welcome.

Parker Theatre Academy - Showtime

Level 1: Ages 6-9 Level 2: Ages 10-12 Level 3:  Ages 13-18
Parker Theatre Academy offers actor training to all levels of students. Join Level 1 as we use story elements from The Avengers to develop super hero characters to create a play and develop new skills in acting, musical theatre, and improvisation. Level 2 and 3 focus on performance and audition skills including acting, dancing and singing for musical theater and improvisation. We are committed to the safety of our students. If health orders required in-person classes to be cancelled, PTA will continue to hold classes virtually. Each level will perform a short play in December. Viewing options of in person or streaming will be provided at a later date. No class Oct. 12 for fall break.

Parker Theatre Academy's Virtual Acting Class

Ages: 12 - 18
For those students that are "safer in place", join Parker Theatre Academy for a virtual journey of acting skills including monologue training, character analysis, and script performance online to build expressive, self-confident, and creative students. Students will need a device and internet access to attend these virtual classes on Zoom.

Parker Theatre Academy’s Improv Frenzy

Ages: 8 - 18
Participate in a fun-filled improvisation workshop and performance at The Schoolhouse Theater. Students will learn the games made famous by the TV show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, prior to the performance and immediately perform before a live audience. Family and friends are invited to the free performance! Viewing options of in person or streaming will be provided at a later date.

KidStage Stars – The Polar Express

Ages: 6-12
There comes a time in every child’s life when their faith in the spirit of Christmas is put to the test. For Nick and Noel, that time is now. The only way their Christmas spirit can be saved is with the help of a few friends. Join Jolly Old St. Nick, a colorful cast of elves and reindeer, and many other classic holiday friends on a magical train ride to the North Pole where they discover the real meaning of Christmas and what it truly means to believe. All students will be cast as a character in the play. After the last day of class, the students will perform the play. Viewing options of in person or streaming will be provided at a later date.

Mini-Musical: The Decendants 3

Ages: 5-12
Join Mal and the VKs in their most epic battle yet, as they take on a mysterious dark force that threatens the kingdom. Mini Musical is a fun introduction to the world of performing, and in this session, students will combine singing, dancing and acting to put together a musical mashup inspired by Descendants 3. Everyone receives a part, and the session ends with an exciting showcase on stage for family and friends. $10 fee payable to instructor due the first day of class.

Broadway Kids

Ages: 4-8
Young triple threats in the making will experience musical theater through ensemble singing, movement, acting exercises and solo work. Students will sing, dance, and play theater games while learning fun choreography and songs from their favorite musicals and Disney hits. All levels of ability are welcome so don’t let fear stand in the way of discovering your inner triple threat!

Broadway Basics

Ages: 8-14
Immerse yourself in all aspects of musical theater with training in singing, dance and acting, while acquiring the confidence and bold techniques required for larger-than-life productions in this semester-long class. Students will hone their musical theater skills while learning songs, scenes, and dances from popular musical theater shows. This course is for the aspiring young musical theater performer. This class will end with a performance showcase.

European Dialect for Actors

Ages: 13-17
Join me for a course in the dialects of the Europe. We will cover Russian, German, French, and any others suggested by class members.
Class will take a text-based approach, meaning we will practice these dialects using theatrical texts written for the dialect being studied. This course will also offer an introduction to phonetics and phonology (the mechanisms of speech sounds, and the ways in which different dialects combine these sounds) which will cover basic IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and physiological explanations of the vocal mechanisms. Actors will practice dialects using texts of their choosing and offer feedback to one another in order to help train the ear as well.
