Parker Theatre Academy - Showtime

Level 1: Ages 6-9
Parker Theatre Academy offers actor training using story elements from Toy Story! Join Level 1 as we develop the beloved toy characters including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Potato Head, Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl, Bo peep and many others fantastical characters creating an original short play using new acting skills, musical theatre, and improvisation. Students may join classes monthly, but are encouraged to be involved the entire semester as each class builds on the skills learned from previous classes. We will perform our short play in May before a live audience.
Level 2: Ages 10-12 / Level 3: Ages 13-18
Parker Theatre Academy offers personalized acting training to all ages of students. The first six weeks focus on individualized performance and audition skills. The second six weeks focus on rehearsal for a showcase held in December for family and friends. Students may join classes monthly, but are encouraged to be involved the entire semester as each class builds on the skills learned in the previous class. We emphasize being a quadruple threat by focusing on acting for the stage, dancing and singing for musical theater, and improvisation.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Participate in a fun-filled improvisation workshop and performance at The Schoolhouse Theater. Students will learn the games made famous by the TV show, Whose Line Is It Anyway, prior to the performance and immediately perform before a live audience. Mini-Musical: Decendants 3

Ages: 5-10
Join Mal and the VKs in their most epic battle yet, as they take on a mysterious dark force that threatens the kingdom. Mini Musical is a fun introduction to the world of performing, and in this session, students will combine singing, dancing and acting to put together a musical mashup inspired by Descendants 3. Everyone receives a part, and the session ends with an exciting showcase on stage for family and friends that will be on Sunday, May 3rd. $10 fee payable to instructor due the first day of class. Note: The semester is made up of two sessions. We recommend enrolling in both sessions, but students are welcome to join at any time!

A Special Kind of Musical Theater

Ages 8+
This course is designed specifically for actors with special needs and their peer buddies. Do you want to improve your acting, singing, and dancing skills so you can be a Triple Threat in musicals? Using Disney songs, the participants will learn singing skills and dancing steps, as well as audition skills, theater terms and stage directions. The strength of this class is the participants’ ongoing active learning and practice of concepts and skills. The class will end with a showcase of small and whole group performances during the last class. Join us for a fun and exciting theater adventure! Participants should complete the Inclusion Participant Form prior to attending class.

KidStage Stars – Harriet Patter and The Broom Closet of Wonder

Ages: 6-12
Harriet Patter is back! In the second installment of this beloved series, all of our favorite characters are back at Pigwarts for more adventure, more magic and more hilarious parody. Someone is making mischief at school and once again Harriet finds herself at the center of it all. With the help of her best friends Don and Hermonica, Harriet must solve the mystery of the legendary Broom Closet of Wonder before it’s too late. Join in this wonderful adventure where friendship proves to be the greatest magic of all.  All students will be cast as a character in the play. After the last day of class, the students will perform the play for family and friends at 6:30 p.m. at The Schoolhouse.

Broadway Kids

Ages: 6-12
Young triple threats in the making will experience musical theater through ensemble singing, movement, acting exercises and solo work. Students will sing, dance, and play theater games while learning fun choreography and songs from their favorite musicals and Disney hits. All levels of ability are welcome so don’t let fear stand in the way of discovering your inner triple threat!

Broadway Basics

Ages: 8-17
Immerse yourself in all aspects of musical theater with training in singing, dance and acting, while acquiring the confidence and bold techniques required for larger-than-life productions in this semester-long class. Students will hone their musical theater skills while learning songs, scenes, and dances from popular musical theater shows. This course is for the aspiring young musical theater performer. This class will end with a performance showcase.
